The HL-S3G-800 is a professional fiber optic transmission system designed for high-density video transport. It transmits eight independent channels of forward-path 3G-SDI video concurrently over a single fiber link. The device relies on advanced CWDM multiplexing technology and full digital, non-compressed processing. This setup delivers broadcast-quality video over long distances with zero signal degradation or color loss. It supports data rates from 270 Mbps to 2.97 Gbps per channel at resolutions up to 1080p @60Hz.
Advanced Signal Optimization and Standards Compliance
The system ensures complete compliance with television industry standards including SMPTE424M, SMPTE292M, SMPTE259M, and DVB-ASI. Integrated input cable equalization automatically balances coaxial transmission losses up to 80 meters using BELDEN8281 cables. To stabilize distorted feeds, an output clock recovery circuit effectively reconstructs the signal and reduces timing jitter. Automatic Power Control maintains a constant output optical power and a large dynamic range across various operational conditions. Specialized PLL and Equalizer processing can be included to maintain the integrity of complex SDI pathological test patterns.
Industrial Rack-Mount Reliability and Deployment
The hardware features a standard 1U 19-inch rack-mount chassis built for seamless integration into server rooms and outside broadcast vans. Its industrial-grade modular design offers true plug-and-play operation with no required software setup or field adjustments. The unit operates reliably within a wide temperature range of -20°C to +70°C and accommodates multiple power supply options including AC 110/220V or DC 5V/12V. Standard interfaces include BNC connectors for video feeds and FC/UPC connectors for the optical links, maintaining an exceptionally low bit error rate below 10^-12.
