Description
Fiber Extender: System Overview and Connectivity
The Fiber Extender is a high-performance SDVoE-compliant transceiver designed to provide uncompressed 4K audio and video extension over long distances. It features a flexible "combo" design that includes both a 10G BASE-T RJ45 copper port and a 10G SFP+ fiber slot, allowing users to choose the most suitable medium for their network infrastructure. The device can be configured as either an encoder or a decoder, making it a versatile "all-in-one" solution for real-time video distribution across a standard 10G managed network switch.
Fiber Extender: Technical Specifications and Performance
This Fiber Extender is HDMI 2.0b and HDCP 2.2 compliant, supporting a massive 18Gbps video bandwidth and resolutions up to 4K@60Hz 4:4:4. It is engineered for zero-frame latency, ensuring that advanced content like HDR10, Dolby Vision, and high-definition audio formats (such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X) are transmitted without delay. While copper connections support distances up to 100 meters using CAT6A/7 cables, the fiber port allows for even greater transmission reaches depending on the SFP+ module used, all while maintaining full color-depth and signal integrity.
Fiber Extender: Advanced Control and Integration
The Fiber Extender offers a robust suite of management features, including a built-in H.264/H.265 secondary stream for real-time video preview on portable devices via a Web GUI or VLC player. It supports complex configurations like Video Walls (up to 9x9), MultiView (up to 25 windows), and seamless matrix switching Beyond video, the device handles bi-directional IR, RS-232, and USB 2.0 (KVM) signal pass-through, and it can be powered conveniently through standard POE (802.3at) or a 12V DC adapter.
