The 8x8 HDMI Matrix Switcher facilitates the transmission of 4K2K@60Hz (YUV 4:4:4) video and multi-channel high-resolution digital audio from eight source devices to eight independent displays. It supports a full 18Gbps video bandwidth and is compliant with HDMI 2.0b and HDCP 2.2 standards, ensuring compatibility with advanced formats like Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HLG. For integrated audio systems, the switcher includes an ARC (Audio Return Channel) function that extracts audio from connected displays to coaxial outputs.
Independent Scaling and Audio De-embedding
To accommodate various display types, each output on this 8x8 HDMI Matrix Switcher features an independent 4K to 1080p downscaler. This functionality allows a single 4K source to be viewed simultaneously on both 4K and 1080p monitors without signal conflict. Furthermore, the device supports audio de-embedding, providing both analog (3.5mm) and coaxial audio outputs for every HDMI port, which can be connected directly to external amplifiers or speakers.
Versatile Control and Signal Management
Managing the 8x8 HDMI Matrix Switcher is highly flexible, offering control via front panel buttons with an OLED display, an included IR remote, RS-232 serial commands, and a comprehensive Web GUI. It features advanced EDID management with 21 factory presets, user-defined modes, and the ability to copy settings from specific output displays to ensure stable device handshaking (pp. 9-10). Additionally, the system supports CEC management, allowing users to control basic operations of connected sources and displays through the web interface.
